The Freak Circus Endings - How to Unlock Every Ending and Hidden Scene

Learn how to unlock The Freak Circus endings and hidden scenes, including Ending: Missing, End of Chapter 1, route states, save points, and current-build ending notes.

Endings Guide: How to Unlock Every Current Ending

This The Freak Circus endings guide is based on the current Chapter 1 web build. It separates confirmed named endings, the normal chapter outcome, route states, and hidden gallery scenes.

The key finding is simple: the current build has one explicit named ending found in the checked script path:

Ending: Missing.

Food, cake, kidnapping, Harlequin's mark, room choices, mirror choices, and hidden scenes are important, but they are not separate confirmed named endings in this build.

Scope Note

This page covers:

  • the current Chapter 1 web build
  • the opening route split
  • the pink-ticket Missing ending
  • the normal End of Chapter 1 outcome
  • food, cake, kidnapping, and room-scene route states
  • blue mirror and purple tent hidden-scene unlocks

This page does not treat unverified player-reported ending names as confirmed. If future builds add Pierrot, Harlequin, true, or bad endings, this page should be updated with a new version note.

Confirmed Named Ending: Ending: Missing.

Ending: Missing. is the confirmed named ending in the current Chapter 1 web build.

Core trigger:

  1. In the opening street scene, choose Do nothing.
  2. The game remembers that you did not help Pierrot.
  3. You miss the early connection that normally supports the red-ticket path.
  4. The pink-ticket route is forced later.
  5. At the circus entrance, Ticket Taker routes you toward the pink tent.
  6. The game displays Ending: Missing.

The important point is that accepting a pink ticket is not always the whole trigger by itself. If you helped Pierrot in the opening, he can later notice the ticket and replace it with a red one. The dangerous state comes from ignoring Pierrot in the opening.

For a first main save, avoid Do nothing. For ending collection, save at the opening and run Missing separately.

Missing Ending Route

Use this route if you want to see the confirmed named ending:

  1. Start a new run.
  2. When Pierrot is attacked in the street, choose Do nothing.
  3. Continue through the cafe sequence.
  4. Let the pink-ticket path continue.
  5. Reach the first-night circus entrance.
  6. Follow the pink tent route.
  7. View Ending: Missing.

This route is short compared with the normal Chapter 1 path, so it is best treated as a separate ending save rather than your main run.

Normal Outcome: End of Chapter 1

The normal route reaches End of Chapter 1. This is not the same as a confirmed good ending or true ending. It is the current chapter's endpoint.

Broad direction:

  1. Help Pierrot in the opening.
  2. Avoid the Missing route.
  3. Reach the first night circus.
  4. Continue into Day 2 through your chosen route state.
  5. Reach the second night circus.
  6. Complete the blue tent and cyan tent.
  7. Enter and complete the purple/Jester tent.
  8. Reach End of Chapter 1.

Different choices can change how you reach this outcome. You may have food, cake, kidnapping, Harlequin, Pierrot-room, or mirror-related states along the way, but those states are not separate confirmed endings.

Route States Are Not Endings

These branches change the run, but they should not be labeled as independent endings in the current build.

Food Route

Buying any circus food before Pierrot's red tent sends you into the poisoned route after the show. Popcorn, sweet popcorn, candy apple, and hot dog all lead into the same broad state. Candy apple adds a Pierrot-related detail.

This is a route state, not a named ending.

Cake Route

After Pierrot's red tent performance, choosing Better not when he asks to see you again leads to the cake route. You do not immediately get a named ending. Instead, the story moves into the kidnapping/storage-room material.

This is also a route state, not a named ending.

Kidnapping / Storage Room

The kidnapping route can be reached through food, cake, or Day 2 recap choices. It contains important Harlequin decisions, including whether he marks you and whether you hold his hand.

These choices can affect later room and mirror details, but they do not display separate confirmed ending names.

Harlequin Mark

Harlequin's mark matters if Pierrot later stays in your room and notices it. The mark can change Pierrot's reaction and give you a choice about whether to let him cover it.

This is a character reaction state, not an ending.

Room Choice

At home, the room split decides which scene you see next:

  • Yes, I need some space. triggers Harlequin's room visit.
  • No, you can stay. triggers Pierrot's room variation.

Both are important for route reading, but neither is a confirmed ending.

Hidden Scenes Are Not Endings

The current build has two major hidden gallery unlocks.

Hidden Scene 1: cena_01

How to unlock:

  1. Complete the blue tent on the second night.
  2. Complete the cyan tent on the second night.
  3. Enter the purple/Jester tent once it opens.
  4. Complete the purple tent.
  5. Hidden scene 1 is added to the gallery.

This is a lore scene, not a separate ending.

Hidden Scene 2: cena_02

How to unlock:

  1. Enter the blue mirror tent.
  2. Choose the final/Columbina mirror.
  3. Select Come closer.
  4. Hidden scene 2 is added to the gallery after the scene.

This scene gives more Columbina-related context, but it should not be treated as a true ending.

Save Plan for Outcome Tracking

Missing Save

Save before the opening street choice. Choose Do nothing only on the slot you use to collect Ending: Missing.

Main Chapter 1 Save

Save after helping Pierrot in the opening. Use this slot to reach End of Chapter 1 without accidentally entering the Missing route.

Food and Cake Saves

Save before:

  • buying food before Pierrot's red tent
  • answering Pierrot when he asks to see you again

These saves let you compare the poisoned route and cake route without replaying the full opening.

Room Save

Save when Pierrot asks whether you need space. This lets you compare Harlequin's room visit with Pierrot's room variation.

Blue Mirror Save

Save before the final/Columbina mirror. Compare Run away. with Come closer. and use Come closer. to unlock hidden scene 2.

Purple Tent Save

Save after completing blue and cyan, before entering purple. Use this to confirm hidden scene 1 and the Chapter 1 ending sequence.

Unverified Ending Names

Do not treat these as confirmed current-build endings unless a future build verifies them:

  • Blood on Stage
  • Caged Love
  • Personality Erosion
  • Pierrot route ending
  • Harlequin route ending
  • Truth reveal ending

They may appear in player discussions, speculation, or future-version expectations, but this page only treats Ending: Missing. as confirmed for the current Chapter 1 web build.
