Quick Summary

For a safe first run:

  1. Help Pierrot in the opening.
  2. Offer the bandage if you want a stronger Pierrot route detail.
  3. Accepting the pink ticket is not automatically fatal if Pierrot helped you reach the red-ticket path.
  4. In the cafe, choose Help with the injury if you want later Harlequin dialogue to react to Pierrot's private voice.
  5. Do not buy food before Pierrot's red tent on your main save.
  6. After Pierrot's show, choose Sure to continue cleanly into Day 2.

Opening Street Choice

The first important choice happens when Pierrot is attacked in the street.

Intervene or Yell at the man

Both choices keep you on the normal Chapter 1 path. The exact tone changes, but both choices mean you helped Pierrot and gave him a reason to notice you before the ticket route begins.

Choose either one for your first main save.

Do nothing

This is the dangerous route. The game remembers that you ignored Pierrot, skips the early care connection, and later pushes the pink-ticket route. This leads to the confirmed named ending in the current Chapter 1 web build: Ending: Missing.

If you want to unlock Missing, save before the opening choice and choose Do nothing on a separate slot.

Bandage Choice

After helping Pierrot, you can comfort him or offer a bandage.

  • Comfort him. works as an immediate soft response, but it is not tracked as a major later route state.
  • Offer a bandage. is remembered. Later Pierrot details, including the bandage and paper flower, feel more personal if you choose this.

For a Pierrot-focused run, choose Offer a bandage.

Pink Ticket Choice

The pink ticket looks like the obvious bad trigger, but the route logic is more specific.

If you helped Pierrot in the opening, accepting the pink ticket can still lead into the red-ticket path because Pierrot can notice the wrong ticket and intervene.

If you chose Do nothing in the opening, the pink-ticket route becomes dangerous because you missed the early connection that normally lets Pierrot help you.

Cafe Blackout

During the cafe blackout, the knife and lights choices mainly affect atmosphere.

  • Pick up a knife makes Pierrot's entrance feel more tense.
  • Turn on the lights moves more directly into the encounter.

Neither one is the main Day 1 route lock.

Pierrot Injury Choice

When Pierrot appears injured, this choice matters more:

  • Ask him to leave
  • Help with the injury

Choose Help with the injury if you want the strongest character and route context. Pierrot speaks privately, explains that he cannot be seen talking, and gives you more information about the circus roles. The game remembers that you heard him speak.

This later changes Harlequin's Day 2 dialogue. If you heard Pierrot speak, Harlequin notices and presses on that secret.

First Night Circus Food

Before Pierrot's red tent, you can buy circus food.

Do not buy food on your main first-run save. Any food choice sends you into the poisoned route after Pierrot's show. Candy apple adds a Pierrot-related detail, but all food choices lead into the same broad poisoned route state.

Save before this choice if you want to compare the food route later.

Pierrot Red Tent Choice

After Pierrot's show, the show-reaction choices are mostly tone:

  • Amazing
  • Scary
  • Fun

The important choice comes after that:

  • Sure
  • Better not

Choose Sure to enter the clean Day 2 route. Choose Better not only if you want the cake/kidnapping route state. It is not a separate confirmed named ending in the current build, but it changes your route strongly.

How to Unlock Ending: Missing

The known current-build named ending is Ending: Missing.

Use this short route:

  1. Start a new save.
  2. In the opening street scene, choose Do nothing.
  3. Continue through the cafe sequence.
  4. Let the pink-ticket route continue.
  5. Reach the circus entrance.
  6. Follow the pink tent path.

  • the bandage choice
  • the cafe injury choice
  • buying food before Pierrot's show
  • Pierrot's Sure / Better not choice after the red tent
