Name Choice and Easter Eggs
The Freak Circus includes small name choice easter eggs during the opening badge-name prompt. These special name reactions appear when you enter certain character names as the player's badge name.
Pierrot name easter egg
One known Pierrot name easter egg appears if you enter Pierrot as the player's badge name.
In this scene, the game asks, "What name is on your badge?" If the player types Pierrot, Pierrot responds with a special line that makes it clear he does not want the player to use his name. His reaction is: "You want to use my name, my lady? But I like yours much more. Please, let me call you by your sweet name."
Harlequin name easter egg
Another name easter egg appears if you enter Harlequin as the player's badge name.
If the player types Harlequin, Harlequin reacts by teasing the player for wanting to use his name. His special dialogue is: "Are you in love with me? That's why you want to use my name? Heh, better stick to yours."
Ticket Taker name easter egg
The Ticket Taker name easter egg appears if you enter Ticket Taker as the player's badge name.
If the player types Ticket Taker, Ticket Taker responds as if the player is breaking the naming rules. The special dialogue is: "You and I both know that's not your name. Follow the rules, do it properly."
Jester name easter egg
The Jester name easter egg appears if you enter Jester as the player's badge name.
If the player types Jester, Jester shuts the idea down by pointing out that there is only one Jester. The special dialogue is: "There's only one Jester. We're not having this conversation again, right? Good."
Doctor name easter egg
The Doctor name easter egg appears if you enter Doctor as the player's badge name.
If the player types Doctor, Doctor treats it like a joke but refuses to let the player keep that name. The special dialogue is: "Hah, that was a good one, but it won't work. Use your own name sweetie."
Columbina name easter egg
Try entering Columbina and see what happens.
For a spoiler-safe first run, use your normal preferred name first. Save name easter egg testing for a replay or a separate save, especially if you want to discover character reactions naturally.
